I wanted to share my recent experience with one of your locations, ABC Eye Specialist in Phoenix. Unfortunately, it was far from satisfactory, and I believe it's important to bring it to your attention.
After waiting six weeks for an appointment and making a two-hour round trip, we were dismayed to find that the doctor who attended to us was not the pediatric ophthalmologist we had requested. This was especially frustrating as both parents had taken a day off from work for the visit.
The individual who saw us lacked the credentials and expertise necessary for our son's case. During the examination, our son cried incessantly, requiring an assistant to pry his eyes open. The language barrier added to our discomfort, and we left with a misdiagnosis.
Our attempts to seek clarification and speak to a doctor went unanswered despite five calls to the office. Requests for our medical records, promised to be mailed, remain unfulfilled. Even after reaching out via email, we received no response. During the appointment, we had some questions that weren't fully addressed, and unfortunately, communication issues arose. Additionally, we did not receive a copy of the diagnosis or exam results. Despite reaching out, we have not received a response regarding our queries, and we were unable to locate an online patient portal for result review. This lack of communication and follow-up left us feeling unheard and dissatisfied.
Ultimately, we decided to cancel all future appointments and sought a second opinion. The contrast in experience and diagnosis with the new ophthalmologist was stark. Our son did not cry, and we felt more comfortable with the recommended treatment.
I share this feedback with the hope that it contributes to the improvement of services at ABC Eye Specialist. Our experience has unfortunately led us to decide against returning to your facility.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
